Terms and Conditions

Last updated 3 October 2026

These terms cover the Lumn app on iPhone and Android, lumnapp.com and join.lumnapp.com (together, “Lumn”). Lumn is run by Leonardo Butera Andreu (“we”, “us”). By using Lumn you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lumn.

1. Who can use Lumn

  • You need to be at least 13 to use Lumn. If you are under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

  • You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login details private.

2. Subscriptions bought in the app

  • If you subscribe in the iPhone app, the purchase is made and billed by Apple through the App Store; in the Android app, by Google through Google Play. Their billing, renewal, cancellation and refund rules apply to those purchases.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (week, month or year) until you cancel. To stop the next renewal, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

  • Refunds for store purchases are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies (our promise in section 5 is separate from these).

3. Subscriptions bought on the web

  • You can also subscribe on the web at join.lumnapp.com. Web payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.

  • Web subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page on join.lumnapp.com; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

  • Prices are shown before you pay. We may change prices for new subscriptions; if we change the price of an existing subscription we will tell you before it applies.

4. Free trials

  • Plans may start with a free trial, currently 7 days. The App Store and Google Play ask for a payment method when a trial starts, and so does the web checkout.

  • If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged for the first period. In the App Store and Google Play, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to be sure you are not charged; on the web, cancel from your account page before the trial ends.

  • Free trials are for new subscribers and may be offered once per person.

5. Our promise

  • Walk the 21 days. If nothing changes, it’s on me. Walk every stone (days you catch up on still count) and write in your journal at least once a week. If you do both and can’t honestly say you’ve made real progress on what you came here for, email me within 30 days of finishing. You get back what you paid, and you keep everything.

  • To use the promise: walk every stone of your Path (days you catch up on still count), write in your journal at least once a week while you walk it, and email lumnsupport@gmail.com within 30 days of finishing the Path. We may check the conditions against your activity in the app.

  • If the conditions are met, you get back what you paid for Lumn. We can’t refund App Store or Google Play purchases through the store ourselves, so for those we refund you directly; reply to our email and we will arrange it with you.

  • The promise does not change your statutory rights or the store refund policies in section 2.

6. Your journal and your content

  • What you write in Lumn is yours. We do not claim ownership of your journal entries or anything else you create.

  • You allow us to store and process your content only to run Lumn for you: for example, to give you a reflection on an entry or your weekly summary. This processing is automated and may use service providers acting for us. We do not sell your content.

  • How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Deleting your account

  • You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. Deleting your account removes your account and journal data, as described in the Privacy Policy.

  • Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings, or on join.lumnapp.com for a web subscription.

8. Using Lumn well

  • Please don’t misuse Lumn: don’t break the law with it, try to get into other people’s accounts, interfere with how it works, copy or resell its content, or use it to harass anyone.

  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

9. What Lumn is not

  • Lumn is a tool for daily prayer and reflection. It is not a substitute for a priest, a confessor or spiritual direction, and it is not medical, psychological or mental-health care.

  • If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number now. In the US you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

10. Changes to Lumn and these terms

  • We keep improving Lumn, so Paths, daily content, features and designs can change, and some may be removed.

  • We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the app or by email before it applies. Continuing to use Lumn after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Liability

  • Lumn is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

  • To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Lumn in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
